Why Getting Diagnosed In Service Is Critical (VA Standard)

Category:

You can have the condition now—and still get denied. Because the VA can’t clearly tie it to service. An in-service diagnosis is one of the strongest forms of evidence. It shows:
• The condition existed while you were in uniform
• It was evaluated by a medical provider
• And it was documented at the time it occurred
Under 38 CFR Part 3, service connection requires evidence of an in-service event, injury, or disease. A diagnosis during service directly supports that element.
