when to Start Preparing a VA Claim (Most Wait Too Late)

Category:

Most veterans start preparing after they file. That’s already too late. The best time to prepare for a VA disability claim is before you file. Preparation means building medical evidence, documenting symptoms over time, and establishing a current diagnosis. Under 38 CFR Part 3, the VA decides claims based on the evidence available. If the evidence is weak at the start, the claim is at risk. The VA is not building your case for you. They review what exists in your records at the time of the decision.
